The five members of staff from Griffiths & Hartley, which is part of the Physio Med network and has clinics in Leeds, Castleford and Wakefield, took on the gruelling challenge in aid of the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust, the only UK charity which specifically funds medical research into cancer affecting teenagers and young adults.
The challenge requires participants to complete the 24 mile loop course within 12 hours – which the Griffiths & Hartley team managed with 20 minutes to spare!
The team, led by Alice Gray, are aiming to raise £4,000 for the charity and the Three Peaks challenge got them off to a great start, with more than £1,000 already collected.
Alice, who plans to scale Mt. Kilimanjaro later this year, said: “None of us have ever completed anything like the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge before, and I think we all found it tougher than expected. I am so proud of everyone in the team for not only getting round, but finishing within the time limit! It’s amazing they’re all still talking to me despite suffering horrific blisters and visits to the hospital afterwards!”
Darren Griffiths, Director of Griffiths and Hartley, said: “We are very proud to have completed this challenge in aid of Laura. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout this and we would ask for continued support to help us achieve our target.”
